    Initial National Autograph Signers announced by Tristar Productions
    Former Heisman Winners Added to Pavilion
    Tristar Productions, host of the Autograph Pavilion at the National Sports Collectors Convention for the 4th straight year, has announced the first group of celebrities appearing at the National.
    2009 NFL Hall of Fame Inductee Bruce Smith will be on hand. Smith, a member of the Buffalo Bills teams which played in four consecutive Super Bowls, will be enshrined at Canton during the weekend following the National on August 9. Also slated to appear are other members of the NFL Hall of Fame including 4-time Super Bowl Champion Joe Montana. Also a 3-time Super Bowl MVP, Montana was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000. Cleveland Browns great Jim Brown will appear. Brown, a member of the last Browns NFL Championship team in 1964 was a 3-time NFL MVP and a 9-time Pro-Bowl selection.
    Others appearing at the 30th National include NFL Hall of Famers Marcus Allen, Earl Campbell, Joe DeLamielleuere, Eric Dickerson, Jim Kelly, Jack Lambert, Troy Aikman and Gale Sayers. Former Heisman Trophy winners Bo Jackson and Eddie George and 2-time Heisman winner and Ohio State Great Archie Griffin will sign. Other former Heisman winners appearing include Billy Sims, Eric Crouch, Jason White, Mike Rozier, Steve Owens and Johnny Rodgers. Wrapping up the first group announced will be Craig Biggio, one of the newest members of Major League Baseball's 3000-Hit Club.
    Tickets and Line Priority Packages will be available though Tristar's web site beginning May 29, 2009. Tristar will be adding more names to this list.     Each year the National hosts many exciting activities and events. Here are some which were held at the 2008 National

    TriStar Productions National Autograph Pavilion - The Autograph Pavilion will be hosted by TriStar Productions and will showcase celebrities and athletes over the five-day period of the consumers' show July 30-August 2, 2008.     Kids Free Week at the 29th National - All youngsters 12 and under will be admitted at no charge all 5 days of the National, courtesy of NFLRUSH.com. There will be special giveaways and other activities for Kid's Free attendees! During the week there will be special performances for kids by various entertainers. A Kids Trading Table will be set up to allow youngsters to trade their cards for superstar cards. As an added bonus NFL Players will provide several former players for free autographs. On Friday, August 1 former Bears Jim Osborne and Keith Van Horne will be signing autographs for youngsters. Mr. Osborne will sign from 11-12:30 and Mr. Van Horne will sign from 12-1:30 in the Family Sports Arena, Booth 555-559 in the Corporate Pavilion.
    Wrapper Redemptions -Every year many of the card manufacturers run wrapper redemption programs at their booths. The details of what products may be used in the redemptions are posted at the company's Corporate Booths. This year we have been informed that Donruss, Press Pass, Tristar and Upper Deck are running wrapper redemption programs. Visit their Corporate Booths for details and to participate.
    Tristar - TNA Wrestlers to Appear - Trsitar Productions has announced that several TNA wrestlers will appear at their Corporate Booth #761. Attendess can receive 1 Free Autograph with a wrapper from Tristar Impact Wrestling Cards. Slated to appear are:

    Negro League Players will appear - Former Negro League Greats will appear at this summer's National in Chicago at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, July 30-August 3. Negro League Legends.com is bringing the following former Negro Leaguers to the National and they will be available to meet & greet, offer Negro League sports memorabilia for sale and shake hands with fans of years-gone-by baseball. They will be located in Corporate Booth #643. Some of the players who will be on hand are:
    Hank 'Baby' Presswood, Infielder (1948-1951) played under Buck O'Neil while with the Kansas City Monarchs (1950-51) and for two years earlier w/ the Cleveland Buckeyes.
    Johnny 'Lefty' Washington, a Morgan Park Grad who played under Ted "Double Duty" Radcliff with the Chicago American Giants, 1949. In (1950) he pitched for the Houston Eagles.
    Nathan 'Sonny' Weston, - a Bloom High School Grad - who played outfield for Ted Radcliff while with the Chicago American Giants in 1951.
    Robert 'Bob' Wiggins, former all-star outfielder who starred for the Raleigh Tigers of baseball's Negro Leagues (1959-1960).
    Ernest 'Ernie' Westfield, former pitcher for the Birmingham Black Barons. Also the starting pitcher in what was the last full fledged Negro League All-Star game held at Comiskey Park in August of 1960.
    Family Day at the 29thNational - Sunday, August 3, has been designated as Daily Herald Family Day at the 29th National Sports Collectors Convention. One $25 admission charge will allow a family (up to 6 people) to attend the closing day of the National. During the day there will be special performances for kids by various entertainers 11am - 2pm. A Kids Trading Table will be set up to allow youngsters to trade their cards for superstar cards. And a final National Special "FREE" raffle, where we will giveaway special sports collectibles from2pm - 3pm. 29th National VIP Party- This special Kick-Off of the 29th National is the annual VIP Party from 3:30-5:00pm, Wednesday July 30th and will be held exclusively for VIP ticketholders. In addition to receiving your week-long credentials and cram-packed gift package, there will be free autograph opportunities on Wednesday with NFL Hall of Famer, Jackie Smith and All-Star and former Cubs great Milt Pappas.

    29th National Sneak Peek- The National will hold its Grand Opening, for all consumers, on Wednesday night July 30, 5-9 PM for a special Sneak Preview of the world's most famous sports collectibles show. Included will be free autographs from Cubs Hall of Famer Ferguson Jenkins (5-8PM), NFL Hall of Famers Roger Wehrli (Cardinals) (5-8PM) and Jackie Smith (Cardinals & Cowboys) (5-7PM) as well as Cub star Milt Pappas (5:15-7:15). Also, the first 3000 Attendees at the Sneak Peek will receive a specially created eTopps Promo Card of Babe Ruth. This card, created in the format of the turn of the century Allen & Ginters cards is sure to be a very high demand souvenir of the 29th National. In addition to the Ruth card, the first 3000 attendees will receive a special 29th National Coupon Book loaded with valuable offers good throughout the week. The Show Floor will be open and admission is free for all VIP Admission attendees.     The National is celebrating its 30th year at the International Exposition (I-X) Center in Cleveland Ohio. The National is the event with the strongest tradition, best autograph guests, largest roster of dealers of vintage and new collectibles and the biggest selection of cards and memorabilia all under one roof. It's been said, "If you can't find what you're looking for at the National, it probably doesn't exist!" The National is the event of the year and is the place you should be in 2009 as collectors, dealers, distributors, manufacturers, licensors and everyone else in the collectibles industry all participate in the worlds most spectacular sports and entertainment collectibles industry. The event kicks off on Wednesday July 29th, and ends Sunday August 2. The Times are Wed. 5pm-9pm, Thurs-Sat 10am-6pm and Sunday, Family Day 10am-5pm. On hand this year there will be 373 different vendors, the most ever at the convention in its 30 years of existance.
    This years event will include a Preview Night on July 29th Wednesday 5-9pm. This event is for the VIP and Super VIP guests. This gives the them a chance to get their hands on the the merchandise before all the regular guests that show up on Thursday the 30th. Family Night is on the final night of the Convention which will have special performances for kids by various entertainers 11am - 2pm. A Kids Trading Table will be set up to allow youngsters to trade their cards for superstar cards. And a final National Special "FREE" raffle, where we will giveaway special sports collectibles from2pm - 3pm.
    This year at the autograph pavilion there will some pretty high profile names in attendence.
